Accessibility Statement
Last updated: September 12, 2026
1. Our Commitment
FitScout is committed to making its website and application usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, screen magnification, speech input, or other assistive technologies. Accessibility is treated as part of the product, not as an afterthought.
2. Conformance Target
We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, and we track WCAG 2.2 Level AA success criteria as we adopt them. FitScout does not yet fully conform to these guidelines. The known gaps are listed below.
3. Known Limitations
We audit the product against WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA and are actively remediating the issues that audit identified. Areas we know still need work:
- Some AI-generated results (workout and program generation) do not yet announce their completion to screen readers; you may need to re-read the page after generating.
- A small number of colour combinations in the interface fall below the 4.5:1 contrast ratio required at Level AA.
- Some custom interface controls do not expose their state to assistive technology as clearly as they should. The session rating scale and the rest timer have been fixed; the exercise navigation in focus mode has not yet.
4. Feedback and Reporting a Barrier
If you encounter a barrier using FitScout, we want to hear about it. Please contact us, describing the page or feature, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology and browser you were using. We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 5 business days and to give you a substantive response, including a remediation timeline, within 15 business days.
If a fix will take longer, we will work with you to find an alternative way to complete the task in the meantime.
5. Assessment Approach
This statement is based on an internal self-assessment against WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 Level AA, combined with automated testing and manual keyboard and screen-reader review. Our continuous integration runs the axe-core rule engine plus a structural check (page titles, heading order, landmarks, form labels, duplicate ids) over the main pages on every change, so structural regressions are caught before release. Rules that depend on visual rendering — colour contrast in particular — are still reviewed manually. This statement has not been independently certified by a third party.
6. Technical Specifications
FitScout relies on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WAI-ARIA. It is designed to work with current versions of major browsers and with the assistive technologies those browsers support.
7. Updates to This Statement
We review this statement whenever we ship significant accessibility work, and at minimum annually. The date at the top reflects the most recent review.
